Welcome to the JJ Blog I have noticed recently lots of people asking on social media where you can see Father Christmas in Lincolnshire this Christmas. Obviously, we still have a few restrictions in place and no one is quite sure what is going to happen from one week to the next so I thought I would take a look around and give some feedback on what’s available in Lincolnshire and from the experience of being a father myself what we have visited and seen.
So some of these I have been to and some of them I haven’t so the ones I have been to I will leave you a quick review. That’s not to say they are going to be the same year after year but I’m going by my experience from past years.
There are obviously many different ways to see Father Christmas from going to a Grotto to going for the full Christmas Experience. It all comes down to budget and what you want to spend on the experience and the time you want to spend too.
So let’s get my list started.
There is no particular order from good to bad these are the most popular I have found in Lincolnshire and the chances are there are many I am missing from the list.
The Real Christmas Experience (Rand Farm)
The real Christmas experience – Decorate biscuits with Mrs. Claus, Meet our real reindeer. Step through the enchanted forest. Meet Santa. Santa’s Elf Academy and more. Plus other Christmas events, see website for further information. 27th November to 24th December.
When we have been in the past this has probably been one of the Best Christmas experiences we have seen in Lincolnshire from live entertainment with Elves to an amazing christmas tree walk through experience. Once you arrive at the grotto everything feels like it should with getting to meet Santa who gave us a magic coin which we then took to the elf workshop to get a present. Our Daughter very much enjoyed this experience from start to finish she was 18 months old when we took her and she really loved every moment.
Sundown Adventureland Christmas (Retford)
As Christmas draws near, the park is converted into a Winter Wonderland with Christmas theming throughout and the annual opening of the wonderful ‘Night before Christmas’ ride. Climb aboard one of Santa’s sleighs and take a magical journey through the enchanted forest to arrive in style at Santa’s Magical Grotto.
You’ll be greeted by the elves and the ever-friendly Mrs. Claus and when it’s your time, you’ll be invited to meet the big man himself. Where you’ll receive a lovely, individually wrapped present and the chance to share your wishes with him.
During Christmas Spectacular Weekends, which start on 20 November, Sundown Adventureland’s family of elves will be decking the halls of the Christmas marquee which will give children the chance to meet the park’s very own Snow Queen, friendly elves, and three Arctic animatronic singing reindeers. Children can also watch the live entertainment of dancing characters.
When you’ve seen Santa and your present is safely in your hands, it’s time to explore the rest of the park.
We went just last week to the Christmas experience this is a great experience for children under 10 with amazing decorations all around the park and also a lovley ride to go and see Father Christmas. We went midweek so didnt get to see any of the live entertainment or market but I am sre these would add to the already amazing atmosfear. Tickets are low now for the weekend so make sure you book as soon as possible. Both our Children received a gift each.
Baytree Garden Centre (Spalding)
The magic is back at Baytree Winter Wonderland, once again we will make Christmas as special as only we can. This year, each booking is restricted to no more than eight people. Winding your way through the snow-covered trees you will arrive at Ivan the Elf’s brand new Santa Sleigh ride at the heart of the Winter Wonderland. Once you have disembarked, you will follow the trail past singing reindeers, polar bears, and some rather colourful snowmen, along the trail you will arrive at Santa’s lodge. Waiting to welcome you will be one of Santa’s many helpers who will introduce you to the big man himself. Keep an eye out on Santa’s magical fireplace where the children’s presents will appear along with a real live Christmas tree, ready to take home and plant up
